Meet Floria - Executive Assistant

My name is Floria, and I am an industrial engineer with a master’s degree from a German university.

• How did your journey lead you to your current position in the company?

It started with internships at Bosch in Germany and Singapore, writing my thesis in a corporate research department within Bosch, and then starting the graduate specialist program at Bosch. During the program, I had the chance to see many departments and cities, one of which was Copenhagen. After working as a product manager in Germany, I had the opportunity to "move back" to Copenhagen for my next adventure, and I took it.

• Can you describe your role and responsibilities within the company? What do you enjoy most about your job?

I work directly for the general sales manager of Europe North. This involves helping to structure projects and strategies for the seven sales units he oversees. Organizing and moderating workshops with colleagues from other countries is also part of my regular duties. This year, I gained my first experience as a global project lead.

What I enjoy most in each position is collaborating with my colleagues. Despite the differences in cultures, languages, and challenges, we work seamlessly as one team.

• How do you contribute to the success and growth of the company in your current position?

Currently, I make sure we follow our effective strategies and look for better ways to boost sales with and for our customers.

For me, it's also crucial to see that Rexroth in Northern Europe is a place where young colleagues find a welcoming workplace in the industrial world. In Young Rexroth, we focus on supporting personal development and career plans while providing opportunities for young colleagues to connect, learn from each other, and help advance our business. I'm proud to lead Young Rexroth Denmark with a fantastic team by my side. They make it easy for me to take on this responsibility alongside my other tasks.

• Outside of work, what are some of your passions or hobbies? How do you balance your personal interests with your professional life?

My family and friends are my greatest support system, and I ensure I make time for them, even while living abroad and frequently traveling for business. This balance is achievable thanks to my boss, who values and supports a healthy work-life balance, allowing me to maintain a clear and focused mind at work.

And when work runs late, I find that practicing martial arts, especially Krav Maga, helps me clear my mind and recharge.

• Can you share a personal or professional achievement that you are particularly proud of?

This might sound a bit cheesy, but I was incredibly proud of the team I worked in, in Germany when we brought a product to market. Knowing all the effort we put into it, seeing the success, and listening to the customers who shared this journey with us is one of my proudest achievements so far.

• Can you share memorable experience where you were able to make a positive impact on a customer or partner?

In my first year at Bosch Rexroth, I worked at the largest industrial goods fair. While explaining our product to potential customers, I found that asking questions and understanding their needs before presenting our product was beneficial for both sides.

I believe this approach helped me perform better in my future roles, benefiting both customers and partners in the long run.

• What do you value most about the company? How does the team collaborate to achieve common goals?

I value my colleagues the most, as they are open-minded, eager to learn, and collaborate. In our region, we collaborate across three time zones, and my daily work involves often interacting with nine different cultures. And none of us are using our mother tongue in big meetings – including my dear colleagues from GB, who are doing their best to keep it simple and understandable for us. So, I believe communication is key.

• Can you share a fun or memorable moment with your colleagues that reflects the camaraderie within the company?

Four years ago, I departed Denmark after a six-month stay. On one of the last days, a dear colleague suggested a final stroll through the beautiful city.

To my surprise, we ran into our general manager, known for his love of exploring local markets. I thought to myself: 'What a nice coincidence seeing him one last time.' Little did I know that all my colleagues were gathered at a nearby restaurant, waiting for me with a farewell dinner. I need not tell you how wonderful the evening was.

These heartfelt gestures made leaving Denmark four years ago difficult but also inspired my eventual return, as you can see.
